Early Career

Clay had taken up boxing under the training of Fred Stone. That would be something he would never regret, because over the next 6 years Clay would go on to win many awards such as 6 Kentucky golden gloves,2 National golden gloves and 2 AAU crowns.Years later in the 1960 Summer Olympics, Clay had went on to win the light-heavyweight gold medal. But upon his return to Louisville, Clay finds out that he is not immune to racism after being refused service by a waitress in a "whites-only" restaurant. After being refused service than after he had gotten into a fight with a white gang, in a rage, Clay had thrown his brand new gold medal into the Ohio river. This was the first of many hate crimes toward Clay in his young Career. Years later in the 1960 Summer Olympics, Clay had went on to win the light-heavyweight gold medal.
